Abstract

The teaching of the Qur'an and Hadith is one of the subjects of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), where when the material is delivered, it is clear that the imagination and enthusiasm for learning of students are lacking. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Religion, the independent curriculum is currently being widely adopted in Indonesian schools, including madrasas. Madrasah MIN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur is one of the madrasas that has adopted the independent curriculum. Researchers are interested in conducting more in-depth research with the research title "Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Learning the Al-Qur'an Hadith Subject at MIN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur." This research uses a descriptive qualitative methodology, with the research subject being the Principal of Madrasah MIN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur as the main information provider in this study. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Al-Qur'an Hadith learning at MIN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur has shown positive efforts in developing more meaningful and student-centered learning, although it still faces various challenges that require sustainable solutions.
