Abstract

Sharia financial literacy is an important aspect in supporting economic practices that align with Islamic principles. However, the understanding and application of Sharia-compliant transactions in daily life still need to be continuously improved through systematic and applicable educational efforts. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to strengthen Islamic financial literacy through education on Sharia transactions, including basic concepts, types of contracts (akad), and their implementation in everyday life. The novelty of this program lies in the use of a contextual case-based educational approach combined with practical simulations of Sharia transactions, enabling participants not only to understand the concepts but also to apply them directly. This program was implemented in the community of Mendalo Darat Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, involving 25 participants. The methods employed included counseling sessions, interactive training, and case-based assistance tailored to community needs. The activities actively engaged participants through discussions and simulations of Sharia transactions. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test instruments. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, as reflected by an increase in the average score from 52% in the pre-test to 85% in the post-test. Participants were also able to distinguish between halal and non-halal transactions and apply simple contracts in their daily economic activities. Thus, this educational program contributes to enhancing Islamic financial literacy within the community and encourages the development of economic behavior in accordance with Sharia principles. In the future, similar programs are expected to be implemented sustainably and expanded to achieve broader impacts.
