This study aims to analyze the quality management practices of madrasah principals in improving students’ academic achievement in madrasahs in Kota Jambi. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design to explore leadership practices within their natural setting. The participants included the principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the principal has implemented four core management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. However, these practices remain largely administrative and are not yet fully based on systematic analysis of students’ academic performance data. Constraints related to limited human resources, budget, and facilities significantly affect the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives. Although students’ academic achievement shows moderate improvement in certain aspects, it has not reached optimal standards. The study recommends strengthening instructional leadership, enhancing teacher professional capacity, and developing a data-driven quality culture to ensure sustainable improvement in academic outcomes.
