Designing Technology-Enhanced English for Specific Purposes For Community-Based Tourism Practitioners by using TPACK
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to design technology-enhanced English for Specific Purposes (ESP) materials for community-based tourism practitioners by using TPACK. The use of technology in designing the materials is to facilitate learners in the learning process and prepare them to face this digital era. The study was conducted in Kulon Progo, one of the districts in Yogyakarta. Research and Development (R&D) was used in this research by conducting observation and interviews with a local English teacher and fifteen villagers as members of Pokdarwis (Kelompok Sadar Wisata). Further in designing the materials, the ADDIE framework was applied in this study. ADDIE includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the result of the Analysis in the ADDIE framework, the technology-enhanced ESP materials was developed by using the TPACK framework. Three units of materials with different topics were designed by implementing TPACK in each meeting comprising technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge. The result showed that the implementation of TPACK, as the framework of blended learning, supported the learners in achieving the objectives of the learning.
