Pengolahan Sampah Organik Menjadi Produk Ekonomis Di Kawasan Candi Muara Jambi, Desa Muara Jambi

Abstrak

Waste is a common problem that often occurs in the world, both developed and developing countries. On
average, each region produces waste both in districts and big cities. Indonesia produces tens of tons of
waste every day, which will then be transported and disposed of in landfills by waste management
trucks. Based on data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia produces 64 million tons
of waste every day. (KLHK). (Wiratih et al., 2021). Wastemanagement is not entirely the responsibility of
the state. City government should also participate in waste management. Communities can participate in
waste recycling and reduce the use of waste on a regular basis. One way to recycle waste is to make
compost from organic waste (leaves). This service aims to increase knowledge capacity and how to make
compost from organic waste (leaves) using a simple composter media. The method used is to provide
material to the community on how to make organic compost (leaves) and training on making organic
compost (leaves). In addition, this service also provides knowledge and training on how to make
ecoenzymes by utilizing household waste such as leftover kale stems and fruit peels. This activity was
carried out in Muara Jambi Village which wasattended by the community, especially farmer groups in
Muara Jambi Village. The results of the evaluation of this activity can be said to be successful with the
enthusiasm of the activity participants. The positive impact is that the amount (volume) of leaf organic
waste that is collected in one place or burned is reduced and can be utilized by the community as an
economic value for the community.
