This qualitative study analyzes how independent local coffee shops build community-based competitive advantages to sustain their operations amidst a highly saturated urban market. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with operations managers from five independent coffee shops each operating for at least three years and actively facilitating local community activitiesand supplemented by direct observation. The findings identify three interconnected survival strategies: designing inclusive physical spaces that serve as "third places," fostering personal relationships between baristas and customers, and providing space and support for local communities. These practices strengthen emotional bonds, generate organic word-of-mouth promotion, stabilize repeat visits, and reduce customer sensitivity to price competition. The study concludes that local coffee shops can compete with well-capitalized chains not by emulating their scale, technology, or promotional intensity, but by leveraging hard-to-replicate relational and community resources. These findings offer practical implications for food and beverage MSMEs regarding the creation of sustainable differentiation through social closeness and community embeddedness.
Ahabbi Rachman Al Amiri Copyright (c) 2026 ANNAQOID: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 5 1 TIMBANGAN/TAKARAN DALAM PERSPEKTIF HUKUM EKONOMI SYARI’AH https://jurnal.iaima.ac.id/annaqoid/article/view/201
Weighing instruments are essential tools for traders in markets, particularly those selling goods that are measured by weight. In traditional markets, traders commonly use various types of weighing instruments, including spring scales, platform scales, digital scales, and household scales. These weighing instruments should be properly calibrated and comply with the standards stipulated by applicable legislation. However, in practice, some traders still use weighing instruments that are unsuitable for use or have never undergone verification and re-verification. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, Islam prohibits dishonesty, including fraudulent practices in buying and selling transactions involving weights and measures. This warning remains highly relevant given the various forms of dishonesty that occur in everyday trading practices involving weighing instruments. Fraudulent behavior in trading or business may occur not only between sellers and buyers but also among sellers, as some traders become overly focused on numerical gains and profits while neglecting the existence, greatness, and power of Allah SWT and the importance of the hereafter. In Islam, the purpose of trading is not merely to obtain the greatest possible profit, but also to attain divine blessing (barakah). A blessed business is characterized by sustainable and legitimate efforts that generate reasonable profits and are approved by Allah SWT.
Alfia Apriani Copyright (c) 2026 ANNAQOID: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 5 1 9 23
